I manage PPC campaigns for small and medium-sized

of keywords and hundreds of AdGroups.

test:
- Open a web browser
- Log in to your Adwords account
- Click on the campaign you’re interested in
- Click on the ad group you’re interested in
- Scroll down or click the link to take you to the
bottom of the page
- Compare the two ads’ CTRs
- Do some calculations.
- If you are certain enough that you have a winner,
select the losing ad and click “edit”
- Change something about the ad
- Repeat the process the next time you think of
it

The email alert contains a link to a results web page
where you can view and sort all your ads, color coded by

There are six different colors, corresponding to six
different split test situations, corresponding to what
action you need to take for each one. The software even
includes a “dead heat” split test state that lets you know
when your ads are just too close to call. In that case, it
advises you to just pick an ad and move on, testing it
against a new ad to improve your results!
