5 Reasons Why You Probably Suck At Making Money Online

Making money online. Everyone is doing it! Emails arrive in your inbox everyday inviting you to click on a link and discover the latest, simple breakthrough formula for creating instant wealth online and make five, six … even 7 figures a month! So, why are you not making any money online?

You heard that it was easy to make money online.  You heard that everyone was doing it.  You then decided to try making money online for yourself. You went ahead and spent money buying e-books, courses, software, videos and cutting-edge “secret” tools and now you’re disillusioned and disappointed.  You figure it was all a sham. 

Well, maybe, the problem of making money online isn’t with the internet. Maybe it’s with you. Have a look at the 5 most common mistakes people make when it comes to making money online and see if any of these have been keeping you from making money online:

1 – You Picked The Wrong Product

Either you picked a product that’s not selling, or you picked a product you know nothing about.  Both are a guaranteed way to fail at making money online.  Do your market research, and make sure that you pick a product that is easy to sell online, and make sure that there are people who want to buy it.  As well, make sure that you know about it.  For example, if cell phone covers are selling like crazy but you don’t know anything about them, it will show and people will choose to buy their cell phone covers from a more knowledgeable seller.

2 - You Didn’t Test The Product Yourself

If you don’t know how a product works, you’re never going to be able to sell it well.  And how can you answer questions about the product and solve possible problems if you don’t have a working knowledge of the product you are promoting?  Your customers will lose faith in you and you’ll lose your chances of making repeat business or getting referral sales.  Worse still, you could also get bad press at review sites, making other potential customers choose to go elsewhere.

3 - You Went Straight To Step 10

You may think that you know all you need to know about making money online and that you can go straight to promoting multiple products on a variety of sites.  Now you’ve got a too many eggs in too many baskets and none of those baskets are making you any money. If this is you, then it’s time to stop, sit back and make a plan.  Choose the one or two products that are easiest for you to promote, write reviews about, and that can give you the best profit margin or ROI. 

Create a cohesive business strategy, then stick to your plan and follow it step-by-step.  If the products you have chosen to start with start making money, you can then use your business plan as a template for adding more products and sites to make even more money online.

4 - You Thought You Were Going To Get Rich Overnight

Making money online is not only very possible, but it’s true … there are many people already doing it. Thinking that you’re going to start making any kind of serious money straight away, however, is only setting yourself up for failure.  Again, review your business strategy. Work your business and keep working at it until you start gathering momentum.

Remember, just because it’s online it doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy or require no effort from you. Just like any other business or opportunity worth pursuing, you have to assume that you’re going to have to work hard and be smart to turn your business into an online money-making success.

5 - You Gave Up Too Soon

This may probably seem counter intuitive to the previous point, but it is just as valid.  Just as you can’t expect to start raking in the money instantly, you also can’t give up if things are a little slower than you expected.  Slow and steady wins the race.  If you’ve done a solid business plan and started out with only a couple of products, then stay consistent and put some effort into it, you will be making money online in no time.

Just remember that, in business, mistakes can present you with golden opportunities to learn what is not working and why it isn’t working, so you can fix those mistakes until you get it right and things start working.

And when things start working, you will start making money online.
